Many elderly individuals in old-age homes or living alone struggle to access hospitals due to physical limitations, transportation issues, or financial hardship. Their chronic conditions — like diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, COPD, dementia, and heart disease — often go untreated, leading to avoidable suffering.
Recognizing this silent crisis, Dr. V. Ashwin Karuppan and the Tambaram Medical Foundation (TMF) launched the Elderly Care at Doorstep Program — a compassionate initiative to deliver free medical care directly to the aged, where they live.

Future Vision
- Expand to 100 old-age homes across Tamil Nadu by 2030, reaching over 15,000 elderly residents.
- Establish Mobile Geriatric Care Units equipped with diagnostics and telemedicine for real-time specialist consultations.
- Set up Elder Health Helpline to provide remote advice and emergency support.
- Collaborate with research teams to study aging-related diseases and improve geriatric care models in India.
- Launch “Adopt a Grandparent” initiative, allowing sponsors to directly support an elderly person’s medical and emotional needs.
